"Everyone who attends or works at Hope College knows how terrible Michigan winters can be. One of the last things you need when in a hurry to get to class on a freezing Polar Vortex morning is your car not starting. Unfortunately, that can happen quite a bit. Thankfully, Campus Safety is there to the rescue! They have helped jumpstart my car every time I needed it, both in the winter as well as in the warmer months. It’s always such a help! Thank you, Campus Safety!"

"After I severely injured my leg in a failed attempt to climb into my roommate’s lofted bed, a Campus Safety officer immediately was by my side to help me out. Not only was he concerned about my physical health, but about my mental and emotional state as well, reassuring me constantly that I’d be okay. After a trip to the ER, this officer also gave me a ride back to campus despite the fact that it was 2:30 in the morning. Ever since that experience I have felt assured that Campus Safety would rush to my aid if I ever needed it again. Thank you, Campus Safety! ~Lindsay Badger, Freshman
"When I see Campus Safety officers in the dorms, I immediately feel safe as I sleep and study there. They always smile when they see you and ask how you are, and it just feels really good to know someone genuinely cares about your safety and wellbeing. Thank you, Campus Safety!"

"One cold winter morning I had to take the train to Chicago which departs at 6:49 a.m. I was scared of walking alone and worried about carrying my bulky suitcases. I thought about the possibility of calling Campus Safety asking for a ride, but I honestly didn’t think they could help. Turns out, they did. The officer who volunteered to drive me to the train station in the early morning hour was incredibly kind. He was punctual and helped me carry my luggage. I really recommend calling Campus Safety if you feel uncomfortable walking alone, especially in the dark. Thank you, Campus Safety!"
